Elana Johnson has organized some interviews of writers who've traveled down this long and winding road toward publication. Some have agents. Some of them have book deals.
They've "made" it.
I will be featured on Beth Revis blog this Friday!
Here are some other blogs participating:
Click here for more inspiration: Lisa and Laura Roecker, Leah Clifford, Victoria Schwab, Kirsten Hubbard, Susan Adrian, Dawn Metcalf, Kim Harrington, Carrie Harris, Amy Holder, Kathy McCullough, Suzette Saxton and Bethany Wiggins, Gretchen McNeil and Tiffany Schmidt.
As Elana says, "Everyone involved is hoping this series will inspire you, provide a beam of hope along your way, and really prove that you CAN succeed in this crazy business. You CAN go from slush-pile-nothing to agented writer to published author."
Yes YOU!

Looks like you guys have organized another winning series! Good job!
Way to go, I'll look for you. I'm on Beth's blog on Thursday!
I mean on Tuesday - tomorrow I think. Whew, where does the time go.
And love your marketing posts btw!
I think this is the coolest idea evah!!
I can't wait to read your interview!
Shelley
What fun! I'll have to check it out.
The only problem with this whole thing is that I'm spending ALL my time on the web reading these interviews!
This is the best encouragement for a newbie like me! Thanks ladies!
I adore hearing success stories!
I'm tomorrow on Elana's blog, and with all this hype, I'm a little ascared :)
I certainly hope we can make it from the slush pile! I'm banking on it!
This should be fun!
I will be reading. Thanks for the tip. I hope that some day there will be a reason to interview me.:)
I read a few of the posts last night - very cool and definitely inspiring! :)
I'm reading and looking forward to more!
I have been going around reading these, too. I love them! I love hearing what's happened recently, and not so recently, to writers I have been blogging with over the years. It is so inspiring!
Hi Shelli! I love your blog and have signed on as a follower. I don't write YA, I'm more of a literary/commercial fiction writer, but I live outside Atlanta so we have that in common :)
Looking forward to reading more from you!
Good to see the stages of writing and publishing revealed with a wealth of experiences.
What a great idea. Hopefully we'll get some helpful tips and inspiration. I could use that right now. Can't wait to read your interview.
woohoo for inspiration! What fun reading all these great interviews!
Ah! Thanks for the linkage Shelli. Can't wait to read your interview. :) :)
It does help to hear all of these stories.
Anyone have any advice on doing face-to-face pitches with agents?
I'm loving Elana's series so far!
:) I'm so excited to have you! :)
Thanks for the inspiration - I need it wherever I can get it!
I will definitely check it out!
You and Elana are an awesome team! Did you two meet up at a conference, or elsewhere, or are you just amazing cyber BFs?
thanks guys -
Jennie - you're funny. I do think elana and are are indred spirits in some sense but we are totally BFFs (blogger buds) - weve NEVER met but we hope to this summer in LA.
